The one "work" required for salvation…believe in Jesus.  Jesus said, "I assure you: Anyone who believes has eternal life. I am the bread of life."

Twelve times in this chapter Jesus talks about eternal life. He says that He is the source, sustainer and guaranteer of true life. If we are placing our faith in anything other than Jesus, we are without life and without hope for eternal life.

Jesus is the One who gives life to the world.
