Whoever said following Jesus was easy has never read the gospels! Jesus challenged his followers with strong words and, most who heard him, chose to walk away. It has never been easy to follow Christ.

He said His followers must, "Deny themselves, take up their cross and follow Him." All three of these things are difficult. Every day I wake up wanting to "not follow" Jesus. Daily I have to choose to say "no" to me in order to say "yes" to Him. My nature is to do my own thing. His desire is for me to do His will.

Following is hard. It is still the best choice.
